Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, embarked on his first trip to Bhopal as the Union Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. Sunday morning, Chouhan departed Delhi with his wife by his side. He is scheduled to arrive in Bhopal at 2:15 p.m. by Shatabdi Express. The city is prepared to greet him with great enthusiasm.
Enthusiastic Reception Along the Journey
Shivraj Singh Chouhan was seen interacting with other passengers, smiling and posing for pictures with kids while on the train. Hundreds of supporters showed up at Morena Railway Station to greet him with flowers and garlands. The senior BJP leader has a lot of support from the local community, as seen by the readiness of BJP members and fans to greet him at several stations, including Morena, Gwalior, and Bina.

Chouhan took to social media platform X to share his travel experience and commend the progress of Indian Railways under the Modi government. “Today I am travelling in ‘Shatabdi Express’ train from New Delhi. The experience of travelling during this time is extremely enjoyable. Under the guidance of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and the vision of Railway Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw ji, Indian Railways is witnessing revolutionary changes in all areas of management and operations. Indian Railways is continuously working to meet the fast-paced needs of New India and to make the journey of passengers economical, safe and comfortable,” he stated.
Bhopal Prepares for a Grand Welcome
Bhopal BJP workers and several social and employee organizations have arranged an elaborate welcome for Chouhan at more than 65 locations in the city. Key party members and community leaders will greet him at various points, including:
- Minister Vishwas Sarang on the 80 Feet Road from Bajaria
- Vidisha MLA Mukesh Tandon on the overbridge
- BJP Minority Morcha between Musafir Khana and Masjid
- Sikh community in the vegetable market
- Kurwai MLA Harisingh Sapre, Minister Karan Singh Verma, and Durgesh Soni of Swarn Samaj
Focus on Agriculture and Rural Development
In an interview with ANI, Chouhan underlined the PM Modi administration’s ongoing efforts over the previous ten years to promote the welfare of farmers. “Farmer welfare schemes have been going on continuously for 10 years under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi,” he said, highlighting the connection between agricultural and rural development. Agriculture and rural development are closely related to one another.The NDA government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi prioritise farmers. Making Lakhpati Didis is PM Narendra Modi’s pledge. My goal in life is to empower women.”
Political Journey and New Responsibilities
On June 11, Chouhan—a six-time member of parliament and four-time chief minister of Madhya Pradesh—took office as the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. He is also in charge of the Ministry of Rural Development’s portfolio. Chouhan has a lengthy and distinguished political career. Most recently, he won the Vidisha Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh by a wide margin over Pratapbhanu Sharma of the Congress.
