Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2023: In an effort to quell speculations and dispel tensions, two senior Congress leaders in Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh, held a press conference during which they made light of a recent video controversy. The video in question showed supporters of former BJP MLA Virendra Raghuvanshi, who had joined the Congress, expressing anger over Raghuvanshi not receiving a ticket. In the video, Kamal Nath was recorded making remarks about Digvijaya Singh’s role in ticket distribution and suggesting the tearing of clothes to vent frustration.
Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh Clarify Speculations After Video Controversy
This video became a subject of political discussion, with the BJP using it to highlight internal tensions within the Congress party. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also commented on the matter.
However, during the press conference, Kamal Nath and Digvijaya Singh shared a light-hearted moment. Kamal Nath clarified his remarks, explaining that his response about tearing clothes was meant in a jestful manner and not to be taken literally. The two leaders laughed together, emphasizing that their relationship is not purely political but also includes mutual respect and humor. They stated that the remarks should be seen in a friendly context and that Digvijaya Singh holds the “power of attorney” to endure such jests on behalf of Kamal Nath.
The public display of camaraderie during the press conference was intended to dismiss any doubts about their working relationship and collaboration in the upcoming elections in Madhya Pradesh. This unity is crucial for the Congress party’s prospects in the state.
