Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made a significant move to empower women in the state by disbursing the fourth installment of Rs 1269 crore under the Ladli Behna Yojana. This initiative aims to provide financial support to women between the ages of 23 and 60 who are not income tax payees and whose family’s annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh.
Chouhan expressed his excitement about meeting the beneficiaries of this scheme
In a video message posted on social media, Chouhan expressed his excitement about meeting the beneficiaries of this scheme and emphasized his dedication to improving the lives of women in Madhya Pradesh. He views the love and support of the women in the state as an invaluable asset and a source of inspiration for his efforts to bring about positive change.
Under the Ladli Behna Yojana, eligible women receive a monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,250. This support has been increased from the previous Rs 1,000 per month, with plans to gradually raise it to Rs 3,000 per month. Additionally, Chouhan announced several other initiatives to uplift women, including a 35% reservation for them in government jobs. This move seeks to enhance women’s participation in the workforce and create more opportunities for them in the public sector.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister pledged to provide gas cylinders at a reduced cost of Rs 450 to benefit women in the state. These measures are part of a broader strategy to empower and uplift women economically and socially.
The Ladli Behna Yojana reflects Chouhan’s commitment to improving the quality of life for women in Madhya Pradesh. By disbursing this substantial amount to over 1.31 crore women, he aims to alleviate financial burdens, promote gender equality, and ensure that women have access to the resources they need to thrive.
This initiative is not only a testament to the government’s dedication to women’s welfare but also a recognition of the invaluable role women play in the development and progress of the state. With these measures in place, Madhya Pradesh is taking significant steps towards gender empowerment and inclusive growth.
