In the election year, the government has made a big announcement for the Anganwadi workers of Madhya Pradesh. Now he will be given ₹13000 monthly salary. The salary of Anganwadi helpers has been increased to ₹ 6500. At present, Anganwadi workers get ₹ 10000 and helpers get ₹ 5000 monthly honorarium.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made the announcement to increase the honorarium at Bhel Maidan in Bhopal on Sunday. Not only this, after retirement, an amount of Rs. 1.25 lakh will also be given to the Anganwadi workers. While the Anganwadi assistants will be given an amount of ₹ 100000. Actually, under the banner of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh, a subsidiary organization of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, thousands of Anganwadi workers from all over the state had come to the BHEL Dussehra ground in Bhopal. They were adamant to get their demands accepted in the open sun.

As soon as the news broke, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached the protest site and made several announcements for Anganwadi workers and assistants. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that reservation in promotion of Anganwadi assistants will be increased from 25 percent to 50 percent. Health and accident insurance of ₹ 500000 will be done for workers and helpers.

500 rupees were available in 2005

Significantly, in the year 2005, the salary of Anganwadi workers was only 500 rupees. 1500 in 2008-09. In the year 2018, the honorarium of the worker was increased to Rs 10,000. Let us tell you that all this increase has happened in the election years.

Shivraj’s target on Kamal Nath

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who reached the protest site, also targeted former Chief Minister Kamal Nath. Shivraj said that Chief Minister Kamal Nath had committed a sin in the Congress government. Before 2018, our government used to give ₹ 10000, out of that amount ₹ 1500 was deducted.

Even though the Chief Minister has announced to increase the salary to 13000, but the Anganwadi workers and assistants are not satisfied with it. The Anganwadi worker who came to the protest site, on the condition of anonymity, said that this salary is very less. Anganwadi worker should get ₹ 20000 per month honorarium, Anganwadi helpers should also be given ₹ 10000 per month salary.

An Anganwadi worker said that the ‘Chief Minister Ladli Bahna’ scheme started in the state is also our contribution. We also went to women’s homes from village to village and made them aware to fill the form. Brought people to Gram Panchayat, got KYC done at district level. We did not get even a bundle of it but our demand is that at least the salary should be increased.
