Madhya Pradesh: A priest, a nun, the principal and a guest teacher of a school in the Madhya Pradesh district of Dindori were all charged after many female pupils reported being assaulted and molested, a police official said on Sunday.
Guest teacher and principal were arrested
According to Dindori Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh, the 35-year-old guest teacher and the 40-year-old principal were arrested on Saturday night under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, and section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty).

“The nun (35) has been accused of abusing the kids, while the school’s carer, a priest in his forties, has been arrested for ignoring the girls’ concerns. According to him, the school is operated by the Roman Catholic Jabalpur Diocesan Education Society (JDES), which is located in Junwani, around 60 kilometres from the district office. The MP Child Protection Department’s representatives and officials visited the school, according to the SP, and action was taken.
