Madhya Pradesh: Five family members perished on February 20 in a cylinder explosion that occurred during a wedding procession in the Madhya Pradesh village of Kachnav Kala in the Bhind district. The bridegroom’s mother, sister-in-law, aunt, and two married sisters were among the victims. The incident happened as the wedding ceremonies were still going on.
Bodies were returned to the village
The injured people were taken right away to the closest hospital. However, eight people were sent to Gwalior because of their serious condition. Due to their critical condition, the bride-to-be Rinku Yadav, his mother, sister-in-law Pinky, and both sisters were sent to AIIMS in Delhi. They were sadly unable to recover from their burn wounds, and on Wednesday morning, their bodies were returned to the village and cremated.

Fire claimed the lives of 35 people
Another cylinder explosion took place in December of last year in the Rajasthani village of Bhungra, Shergarh division, Jodhpur district, resulting in a fire that injured close to 50 people. The fire claimed the lives of 35 people who had come to take part in a wedding ritual. Following the gas cylinder tragedy, the Rajasthani government agreed to pay Rs 17 lakh to the dependents of the deceased, Rs 5 lakh to the injured, and to offer a contract job to the dependent member of the deceased. These tragic occurrences emphasise how crucial safety precautions are when working with gas cylinders. To ensure public safety and avoid similar occurrences in the future, the authorities should take the necessary action.
