The Madhya Pradesh government presented a Rs 3.14 lakh crore state budget for 2023-24.
Finance Minister Jagdish Deora presented the budget for the year 2022-23 in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. This is e-budget. This budget is an election budget and is tempting for all sections. This is the last budget of the 15th Assembly of the state, which is coming before the elections. That’s why the possibility was already being expressed that this time there will be a provision of more amount as compared to the previous budget, as well as provision of some big scheme can also be made in this budget. In this budget, the possibility of special focus for farmers, women, tribal and youth was expressed.
After the coming of the budget, new issues will gain momentum in the politics of the state, along with the opposition will try to corner the government regarding the loan waiver.
MP Budget 2023 Highlights
To make women self-reliant, the state government has provided loan linkage of more than Rs 5084 crore to self-help groups. Along with this, it has also been decided to give an additional interest subsidy of 2 per cent on the loan of Rs 3 lakh.
The government has announced to allocate Rs 3,320 crore for CM Rise Schools to provide better education.
The budget of the sports department has been increased to Rs 738 crore.
The sex ratio at birth in the state has increased from 927 to 956 in the year 2020-21 as compared to the year 2015-16.
400 crores for medical colleges. The Finance Minister has announced to allocate Rs 400 crore for the development of medical colleges across the state.
Mukhyamantri Balika Scooty Yojana will be implemented in the state. The girl students who get the highest marks in class 12th will get a scooty under the scheme.
Rs 8,000 crore has been proposed for the Ladli Behna scheme.
Finance Minister Jagdish Deora said that according to advance estimates, the state’s GDP has increased by 16.43%.
An allocation of 459 crores has been proposed under the Pradhan Mantri Matrivandana Yojana.
1,766 crore has been paid to about 33 lakh registered beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Matrivandana Yojana.
Finance Minister Jagdish Deora announced that the government has proposed to allocate Rs 1.02 crore for women in the budget.
Rs 929 crore allocated for Ladli Laxmi Yojana. A provision of 929 crores is proposed for the financial year 2023-24 for Ladli Laxmi Yojana.

Per capita income has increased 3.5 times to Rs 1,40,585. The contribution of Madhya Pradesh in the country’s gross domestic product has increased from 3.6 percent to 4.8 percent. The per capita income has increased three and a half times from Rs 30,497 in 2011-12 to Rs 1,40,585 in 2022-23.
Under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana, more than 44 lakh girls got benefited. Under Ladli Laxmi Yojana, more than 44 lakh girls of the state have been benefitted.
The intention of the government is to make women financially independent. The Finance Minister said in the budget speech that the intention of the government is that women should come in the role of leadership in the family.
