As the weather takes a wintry turn in Madhya Pradesh, heavy rains have ushered in a significant drop in temperatures. In response to the escalating cold, school timings have been modified in key districts including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Sagar, and Chhindwara. The respective Collectors of these districts have issued orders that mandate all schools, from nursery to class five, to commence operations after 9 am.
Unified Decision to Combat Chilling Temperatures
The decision to reschedule school timings is a collective effort to address the intensifying cold wave in Madhya Pradesh. District Collectors in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Sagar, and Chhindwara have issued uniform directives to ensure a consistent approach to the altered schedules, specifically for the lower classes.
Extended Duration in Chhindwara, Emphasizing Health Measures
In Chhindwara, the Collector has gone a step further, ordering that all schools, from nursery to 8th class, adhere to the revised schedule after 9 am. This measure, aimed at safeguarding the health of students, is set to remain in effect until January 31, 2024. The order encompasses all types of schools, including government, non-government, recognized, aided, CBSE, and CSE schools operating in the district.
Meteorological Alerts and Rain Possibilities
The decision coincides with meteorological alerts, as the eastern part of the state anticipates the possibility of continued rain. The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for three districts in the Jabalpur division—Chhindwara, Seoni, and Balaghat—forecasting heavy rain and lightning. The altered school timings align with proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students amid the changing weather conditions.
