According to Singhar, Kamal Nath, a senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, has expressed his desire for his son, Nakul Nath, to contest again from Chhindwara constituency. The party leadership appears to align with this view, making Nakul Nath’s nomination from Chhindwara a foregone conclusion.

Adding to the roster of candidates, Singhar confirmed that another veteran Congress leader, Digvijaya Singh, is set to contest in the upcoming elections. Singh’s candidacy was decided upon with his agreement, indicating a strategic placement of experienced politicians by the Congress in key constituencies.
This news follows amidst swirling rumors last month regarding Nakul Nath’s political allegiance after he had briefly removed “INC” from his social media profiles. This move had fueled speculation about him possibly joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, these rumors were subsequently quashed by Kamal Nath, who clarified that there was no truth to the speculation and attributed it to media fabrication.
