MP News: An explosion at a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh‘s Harda town has resulted in a tragic loss of 11 lives, with three individuals arrested in connection to the incident. Among those apprehended is Rajesh Agrawal, the owner of the Harda Firecracker Factory.
Owner Nabbed While Fleeing
Rajesh Agrawal was captured by police as he attempted to flee towards the national capital in his car. Additionally, Somesh Agarwal and Rafiq Khan have also been arrested in connection with the case.
Serious Charges Laid
The accused individuals face charges under sections 304, 308, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as Section 3 of the Explosive Substances Act, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Explosion Details and Casualties
The explosion, which occurred in the Bairagarh locality on Magardha Road, left 174 people injured. Rescue efforts led to the retrieval of 174 individuals, with casualties receiving medical attention in Bhopal and Hoshangabad. Unfortunately, the death toll stands at 11.
Swift Response and Recovery Efforts
Authorities swiftly responded to the explosion site, focusing on firefighting and rescue operations. Following the containment of the blaze, efforts shifted towards clearing debris from the area.
Condolences and Relief Measures
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences for the lives lost and announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased, along with Rs 50,000 for the injured.
