MP News: In a significant move aimed at empowering women, the Madhya Pradesh cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, approved a 35% reservation for women across all state government services. This decision was an increase from the previous 33% reservation. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla emphasized the importance of this change, describing it as a substantial step toward women’s empowerment in the state.
New Fertilizer Centers to Benefit Farmers
The cabinet also approved the establishment of 254 new fertilizer sales centers to ease accessibility for farmers. The new centers aim to address the issue of long queues, providing a streamlined process for fertilizer procurement, which can now be done through cash payments, alleviating the seasonal pressure faced by many farmers.
Power Sector Reforms: New Thermal Power Plant
To bolster energy production, the council of ministers sanctioned a plan to replace aging power infrastructure in Sarni with a new 660 MW thermal power plant. This plant will take the place of four older units, totaling 830 MW, which will be decommissioned. This new plant is expected to contribute to improved energy efficiency and address the growing power needs of the state.
Recruitment Age for Assistant Professors Raised
Additionally, the cabinet increased the maximum recruitment age for Assistant Professors in Medical Colleges from 40 to 50 years, aiming to attract a broader pool of experienced candidates into the state’s educational institutions.
Investment Success from Regional Industrial Conclave
Highlighting a successful industrial push, Deputy CM Shukla shared that the Regional Industrial Conclave in Rewa attracted over 4,000 investors, yielding investment proposals worth Rs 31,000 crore. These investments are expected to create over 28,000 job opportunities, boosting economic growth and employment within Madhya Pradesh.
