The crime took place in Shahpura, Dindori district, where the assailant reportedly smothered her with a pillow. The motive behind this heinous act appears to be Sharma’s dissatisfaction with not being named as the nominee in his wife’s service book, insurance, and bank account.
Tragic Murder of Bureaucrat by Husband Unfolds in Madhya Pradesh
The husband, in an attempt to cover up the crime, washed the blood-stained clothes and misled the police about the circumstances of her death. The police discovered a pillow cover and bedsheet in the washing machine at the scene. Nisha Napit’s sister, Nilima Napit, accused Manish Sharma of murder, alleging financial harassment and asserting that he prevented the house help from entering Nisha’s room.
Despite Sharma’s effort to portray the death as a result of a kidney ailment, Nisha’s sister firmly believes it was a murder, citing past instances of physical and mental torture. The tragic incident came to light when the husband took Nisha to the hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival, prompting the police to investigate further.
