MP Weather Update: Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are bracing for a tumultuous weather forecast in May, with predictions indicating the likelihood of heatwaves, scorching temperatures, rainfall, and hailstorms.
April witnessed unprecedented rainfall across Madhya Pradesh, breaking previous records. The excessive precipitation prevented temperatures in the state from soaring beyond 43 degrees Celsius due to frequent showers and hailstorms.
Heatwave and Heavy Rains Expected in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in May
Chhattisgarh, on the other hand, anticipates a swift transition into intense heat at the onset of May. The absence of moisture-laden winds from the sea is expected to exacerbate the sweltering conditions in the state and its neighboring regions.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhopal, there is a possibility of the activation of the Western Disturbance system in May, potentially leading to rainfall and hailstorms in the third and fourth weeks of the month. May is projected to witness the highest temperatures in Madhya Pradesh, with daytime heatwaves anticipated, persisting even during the nighttime.
IMD forecast suggests the likelihood of rain during May
Furthermore, the IMD forecast suggests the likelihood of rain during May, indicating a potential shift in weather patterns in the coming weeks. Recent temperature records indicate that Madhya Pradesh experienced temperatures around 42 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh, in contrast to April, may experience heightened temperatures exceeding 43 degrees Celsius. With no active weather systems in the region and negligible prospects of cloud cover, rainfall remains unlikely in the immediate future. Raipur, the state capital, is anticipated to witness a surge in temperatures, with Tuesday recording temperatures of 42 degrees Celsius.
As both states prepare for the forthcoming weather challenges, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of the expected heatwaves and erratic weather conditions.
