MP Weather Update: Most of Central and Northern India is currently experiencing severe heatwaves, with temperatures soaring and making life difficult for the residents. In Madhya Pradesh (MP), the scorching heat is particularly intense. However, there is some respite on the horizon as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the onset of the southwest monsoon in Kerala a day earlier than expected. Following this, the southwest monsoon is expected to reach MP by June 15, providing relief from the oppressive heat within the next 17 days.

Meteorologists have predicted a good monsoon for MP this year. This means that the state can expect substantial rainfall starting from the second half of June. In Bhopal, the monsoon is likely to arrive between June 18 and 20.

Temperature Drop Anticipated

With a change in wind patterns, temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming days, offering some relief from the extreme heat. Currently, many parts of the state are facing heatwave conditions. On Wednesday, Datia and Khajuraho recorded temperatures above 47 degrees Celsius, experiencing severe heatwaves. Additionally, cities like Satna, Sidhi, Gwalior, Rewa, Shivpuri, Nowgong, Tikamgarh, and Damoh saw temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius with heatwave conditions prevailing.
