Angry over non-repair of roads in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh’s Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar stopped wearing slippers and shoes and started walking barefoot. After this, Tomar wore slippers on Sunday after 66 days on the request of Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Scindia said that the roads for which Minister Tomar had sacrificed slippers are now becoming splendid. Tomar had said in his home town Gwalior on October 20 this year, “The public is suffering. He said that the government gave money in time to fix the roads and asked the officials to fix it immediately. In front of the public who elected him, I am publicly accepting that the roads have not been built and am apologizing for the same.”

Tomar had further said, “I should also realize the pain the public is facing, so I will wear shoes until the three roads (of Gwalior) Laxman Talaiya, Gande Wali Road and Hospital Road are not repaired.”
After this, the Municipal Corporation had started repair and construction of roads in many areas of the city, whose work is nearing completion. Scindia came to Gwalior on Sunday (December 25) and placed slippers in front of Energy Minister Tomar and requested him to wear them, after which Tomar wore slippers.
Scindia said in Gwalior,”The roads for the construction of which Pradyuman Singh Tomar had left slippers are now being completed. The Chief Minister has given approval for the construction of these roads and excellent roads are being built.”
He said that they would be inaugurated soon. After wearing the slippers, Tomar said that those who suffered pain can now walk on the roads well and he is feeling happy in it.
