Madhya Pradesh’s education department has issued a show-cause notice to a government school teacher after a student recited a poem criticizing Mahatma Gandhi during an event. Along with this, the Congress has submitted a memorandum to the district collector against the poem insulting Mahatma Gandhi. In fact, a school child had read an objectionable poem on Mahatma Gandhi during the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Vikas Yatra at CM Rise School in Seoni district. After which now a political ruckus has started in the state regarding this issue.
In the video of this incident which went viral on social media two days ago, Seoni MLA of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party Dinesh Rai Munmun can also be seen clapping while singing. Other BJP leaders, officers, teachers present there were congratulating the child on the poem humiliating Mahatma Gandhi and clapping again and again.
Mahatma Gandhi accused of keeping silent during the violence
Under the ongoing development journey of the state government, a program was organized at CM Rise School in Dunda Seoni area of Seoni district on February 5. During this, a student recited a poem in which Mahatma Gandhi was accused of remaining silent on the violence during the partition period.
It also asked the question that as we have been taught that India got freedom only from the spinning wheel, then who were the ones who were hanged for the country.
District Education Officer Kamal Kishore Patel said on Tuesday that a show-cause notice has been issued to the teacher guiding the student and a report has been sought from the teacher.
Children should not be dragged into politics
District Congress spokesperson Rajik Akil said that the BJP MLA was seen clapping during the recitation of a poem, in which Mahatma Gandhi has been insulted by portraying a wrong history. On the other hand, BJP MLA Dinesh Rai Munmun said that this incident is related to children and it should not be taken seriously. He said that children should not be dragged into politics.
