Rewa Cyber ​​Fraud: Rewa police caught cyber thug from Jamtara

Madhya Pradesh Police and cyber team have got a big success. Rewa police has arrested a member of the gang who used to siphon money from people’s account in Jamtara from Karmatad village under Ramapur police station area of ​​Jamtara district.

When the caught cyber fraud was brought to Rewa and interrogated, there were many more shocking revelations. The swindler used to call people first and inform them about their mobile’s SIM being blocked, and then asked them to recharge for Rs 10. And later sending a link, as soon as people touched the link, the accused used to blow money from their account.

Here’s what happened

On February 26, Harishchandra Tiwari, a resident of Chirahula Colony of Bichiya police station area, reached Bichiya police station and lodged a complaint of cyber fraud. In the complaint, the victim informed that he has been a victim of fraud. The victim said that he had received a call from an unknown person on his mobile. The caller said that you should recharge your Jio SIM with Rs 10, otherwise your SIM will be blocked.

On this, when asked to recharge, the unknown accused caller sent a link to his number and asked to recharge Rs.10 through this link. When the complainant opened that link, 89 thousand rupees were stolen from his account.

Police informed that the accused, who was arrested from Jamtara in Jharkhand, told that he used to find out which people were using the online transaction app by entering any number in the payment app Paytm, Google Pay, Phone Pay to transfer money online.

After finding out, the accused would call the people on the said number and inform about the closure of their SIM. The accused would send a link of Anydesk to the victim’s mobile and ask them to install it.

Taking control of the mobile of the accused applicant, he said that you should do a recharge of Rs.10 on your mobile. The accused used to transfer money from the applicant’s account after knowing the UPI password of the applicant through the link. The arrested accused has similarly transferred 89 thousand rupees from the account of victim Harishchandra Tiwari.

Disclosing the cyber fraud, Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh informed that as soon as the complaint was received, the police and cyber cell team reached the accused and arrested him and brought him to Rewa. During interrogation, the accused told that apart from Rewa, he had cheated a person from Balaghat of Rs 40,000.

The arrested accused is a resident of Karmatad village of Ramapur police station in Jamtara district of Jharkhand. Some sims and four mobiles have also been recovered from the accused.
