Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently took part in a significant ceremony called Bhoomi Poojan at the Sant Shiromani Gurudev Shri Ravidas Memorial Sthal in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district. During this event, he honored the renowned social reformer Sant Ravidas by offering flowers at his statue. This memorial, dedicated to Sant Ravidas, is going to be constructed on an extensive area of more than 11.25 acres, and it’s expected to cost over Rs 100 crores.
The memorial itself will be quite impressive. It will feature a remarkable art museum and gallery that will showcase the life, philosophy, and teachings of Sant Ravidas. Additionally, there will be facilities like lodging (Bhakt Niwas) and a dining area (Bhojanalay) for the devotees who come to visit the memorial.
The Chief Minister of the state, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, had earlier announced plans for both a temple and a memorial in honor of Sant Ravidas in the Sagar district. The temple will be built in the Nagar architectural style. Also, an interpretation museum will be created to exhibit the work and personality of Sant Ravidas. This museum will contain four galleries highlighting various aspects such as his spiritual path (Bhakti Marg), his contributions to the Nirgun Panth, his philosophy, and his literary works.
During this visit to the state, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation for several infrastructure projects in the rail and road sectors, with a combined worth of more than Rs 4,000 crores. Notably, he will mark the completion of the doubling of the Kota-Bina rail route, a significant railway development costing over Rs 2,475 crores. This new rail line passes through several districts in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, which will enhance transportation capacity and facilitate faster train travel.
Two road projects will be initiated during this visit
Furthermore, two road projects will be initiated during this visit. These projects will connect various places, including Morikori, Vidisha, Hinotiya, and Mehluwa. The combined cost of these road projects is estimated to be over Rs 1,580 crores. Overall, Prime Minister Modi’s visit involves commemorating Sant Ravidas, inaugurating vital rail and road initiatives, and contributing to the region’s development.
