The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is scheduled to hold elections later this year in Madhya Pradesh, conducted an extended state executive meeting on Friday that lasted all day.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan commented on the elder party leaders’ showing dissatisfaction saying, “We’ve to take everyone along, which means ‘Purano ka Samman aur Naye ko Sthaan’. Become wide-hearted, as the BJP doesn’t fight polls to make MP, MLAs or Chief Minister. It fights the elections for taking the country on top of the world and for public welfare. That should be our only motive as we go into the polls united.”
Also covered were the specifics of a month-long statewide campaign that would run from May 30 to June 30. The government of Narendra Modi will have served nine years in the centre of government at this point. Between June 20 and June 30, the party leaders also intend to organise a door-to-door connect programme.
Conversations with social media influencers and a few honoured families will be held by senior party figures like chairman Minister Chouhan and state party chairman VD Sharma.
Sports figures and other personalities will also speak at rallies in Lok Sabha constituencies in addition to central leaders and union ministers.
On June 23, PM Modi will hold a video conference to address the party’s 10 lakh booth level workers. On June 25, special gatherings will play documentaries to reveal the Congress’ declaration of an emergency.
Despite having lost the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections in 2018, the BJP was able to retake control of the state in 2020 when Kamal Nath’s Congress government fell. With the exception of the time from December 18, 2018, to March 2020, when Mr. Nath led the Congress government, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been in office since November 29, 2005, the BJP is eager to win another term in office.
