Zomato Ad: Recently, Online Food delivery giant ‘Zomato’ has released an ad “Mahakal se thali manga liya” featuring Hritik Roshan which has become offensive for many.
As soon as the ad was broadcasted two priests from the prominent Mahakal temple of Ujjain asked to remove the ad. The priests say the Zomota ad featuring a Bollywood star offends Hindi sentiments.
About the Zomato Advertisement
In the Zomato ad, Bollywood star Hritik Roshan is seen saying as he feels having a ‘thali’ in Ujjain (one of the prominent holy places of India), so he ordered from ‘Mahakal’. The Mahakaleshwar Temple famously known as the Mahakal temple of Lord Shiva in Ujjain is one of the twelve jyotirlingas of Shiva, devotees come here from all over the country.
Ashish and Mahesh, two of the priests of Mahakal temple said the advertisement should be removed instantly and they have also asked for an apology from Zomato and Hritik Roshan for the same.
Mahakal Temple priests claim
The reason why priests find it offensive is that Devotees are served ‘prasad’ in a thali and the ad hurts the sentiments of Hindus, claims Priests. The priests even approached the district collector of Ujjain Ashish Singh.
Ashish Singh is also the chairman of Mahakal temple trust, the priest urged the district collector for immediate action against the actor and company so that from now on nobody else could dare to mock the Hindu religion again, priests said.

Netizens reaction
The Zomato advertisement even came up on social media, and soon after the netizens didn’t like the idea of the ad too and they started trolling Hritik Roshan and the company for hurting the Hindu sentiments.
