Fortunately, reports suggest that the injury sustained by Ms. Banerjee is minor. This incident comes just over a month after the Chief Minister suffered an injury to her forehead following a fall at her residence in Kolkata’s Kalighat area. On that occasion, the 69-year-old leader was rushed to the State-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata for medical attention.
According to Manimoy Bandopadhyay, the director of SSKM Hospital, Ms. Banerjee was admitted with injuries sustained from a fall after experiencing “a push from behind.” She was diagnosed with a cerebral concussion and had suffered a sharp cut on her forehead and nose.
The latest incident underscores concerns over the Chief Minister’s well-being and highlights the need for increased vigilance during her public engagements. As Ms. Banerjee continues her duties amid these challenges, her health remains a topic of concern for her supporters and the broader political landscape in West Bengal.
