Manipur violence: As new violence broke out in the conflict-torn state, criminals torched Manipur minister Nemcha Kipgen’s official mansion in Imphal West. According to sources, the event happened on Wednesday at around 6:30 p.m.

Attack on Village Leaves Nine Dead and Several Injured in Kangpokpi District

On Tuesday, miscreants attacked a village in the Khamenlok area of the Kangpokpi district, resulting in at least nine fatalities and nine injuries. The thugs started shooting and setting everything on fire throughout the village. Numerous houses were reportedly burned down in the village of Khamenlok, and numerous people were hurt in the Gobajang neighbourhood of the Tamenglong district. The violent northeastern state’s political climate is still tense. To avoid a breakdown in law and order, security personnel continue to patrol high-risk areas.

Significant Haul of Guns and Ammunition in Tengnoupal and Imphal East Districts

In the meantime, Tengnoupal and Imphal East districts have seen the recovery of 63 rounds of ammunition and 63 guns during the past 24 hours. Kuldiep Singh, the security adviser for Manipur, claims that 1,040 weapons, 13,601 rounds of ammunition, and 230 various kinds of devices have all been found so far. The curfew relaxation hours in Imphal East and Imphal West districts have been shortened by the district authorities from the customary 5 am to 6 pm to 5 am to 9 am. In 11 of Manipur’s 16 districts, the curfew is still in effect, and the whole northeastern state’s internet services have been shut down.
