Manipur Violence: Seiminlun Gangte, an accused in a Manipur violence case, was remanded to two days of National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody until October 3 by Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Sunday. The suspect was taken to Delhi after being taken into custody on Saturday in Manipur. He was transported on remand to Delhi.

The public prosecutor then requested that custody be extended till Tuesday in order to present the accused to the special judge until May. Under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) and other statutes, the federal investigation agency has filed a complaint.
Seiminlun Gangte has reportedly been detained in connection with a transnational plot by terror group commanders headquartered in Bangladesh and Myanmar to wage war against the Government of India by taking advantage of the ongoing ethnic conflict in the State of Manipur. On July 19, 2023, in New Delhi, the NIA suo moto filed the case.

The NIA reported that more investigations into the case are ongoing.
