Violent Attacks on Minister’s Homes Expose Vulnerabilities in Manipur
The attack on a Union minister’s home on Thursday and the one on a state minister’s home the day before showed that nobody is secure in Manipur. On Thursday night, a mob set fire to and vandalised the home of Union Minister RK Ranjan Singh in Imphal. On Thursday night at 11 p.m., a group of people broke into Minister Ranjan Singh’s home and attempted to set his possessions on fire. The crowd was able to enter despite the outnumbered house guards posted at the gated community.
