Atiq Ahmed: Atiq Ahmed’s son will have his final rites done by his maternal family members at the Kasari Masari cemetery in front of the gangster-politician’s home. Ghulam’s family has declined to accept his remains, therefore the Uttar Pradesh Police will administer his final rites in the meanwhile.
Both were wanted for the murder of Umesh Pal
In a Thursday engagement with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) in Jhansi, Asad and Ghulam both perished. Both were wanted for the murder of Umesh Pal and had Rs 5 lakh bounty placed on their heads. According to sources, Ghulam’s remains won’t be given to his family members in Jhansi. Both bodies will be moved by the police to Prayagraj, where they will be burned under their watchful eye.

Umesh Pal was shot and killed outside his residence in Prayagraj
According to sources, Atiq Ahmed, who was remanded to 14 days of judicial prison, repeatedly asked the police to let him attend his son’s funeral but was turned down each time. Atiq Ahmed, who was at the time detained in Prayagraj jail alongside his brother Ashraf, claimed responsibility for Asad’s death shortly after the death of his 19-year-old son. On February 24, Umesh Pal, a witness in the 2005 murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal, was shot and killed outside his residence in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Assignees in the lawsuit included Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, Asad, and others. Additionally charged in the 2005 murder of Raju Pal is Atiq Ahmed.
