In the upcoming four months, MCD intends to open indoor patient facilities at two significant hospitals. MCD has chosen Balak Ram and Veer Savarkar Arogya Santhan to initiate the movement. Primary healthcare institutions in Fatehpur Beri also have an indoor patient facility as per MCD officials.
More OTs for improving healthcare facilities
Seven major MCD hospitals currently have OTs that are completely functional. Three more healthcare facilities have been chosen for improvement. The project at Veer Savarkar will be funded by MCD, therefore the procedure could take some time. However, work on the OTs at Balak Ram Hospital and the Fatehpur Beri Center would be finished using CSR money in three months, according to an MCD official.
Funding allotted
The MCD has allotted funding to the engineering department for the task and the OTs will have 24-hour maternity services. The official stated, “The OTs will handle surgeries for gynecology, ENT, and eyes.”
Additionally, there are plans in place to expand Balak Ram Hospital to 100 beds and open OPDs for additional specialties.
Veer Savarkar Arogya Santhan currently has a chest clinic in addition to an OPD for medicine, surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, dental, and gynaecology, as well as a labour room for standard births.
The official continued, “The in-patient facility will be started after civil and electric work is completed so that a large number of people can access medical facilities.”
MCD to increase workforce
MCD is also attempting to increase its workforce. The official stated that “contractual engagement/outsourcing of staff and recruitment through DSSB are under process.”
“MCD has launched an e-OPD facility where individuals can register online and monitor their information. The official stated that it has been expanded to 188 health units,” the official said.
