Next Phase of Development Underway for Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor
The platforms and concourse levels at the Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar, and Anand Vihar stations have moved to the next phase of development, according to a statement from the NCRTC. As soon as RAPIDX services start, a 17-km priority segment between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot in Ghaziabad will also be operational and open, according to officials. The 82 km long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS route will take less than an hour to travel between Meerut and Delhi, with trains moving at a top speed of 180 kmph. At Sarai Kale Khan (Pink Line), Anand Vihar (Pink and Blue Lines), New Ashok Nagar (Blue Line) and Ghaziabad (Red Line), the RRTS will connect with three already-existing Delhi Metro lines. Plans call for the stations at Anand Vihar, Sahibabad, Sarai Kale Khan, and Shaheed Sthal to serve as multimodal transportation hubs with seamless connections to the Delhi Metro, Indian Railways, and bus terminals. The task is expected to be completed by March 2025.
