Meerut News: A family in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, claims that local police officers arrested their son after placing a gun on him. To support their claim, they also provided the CCTV footage. On social media, the video has become very popular.

Controversial Arrest and Alleged Evidence Planting at Ashok Tyagi’s Residence

The incident allegedly took place at Ashok Tyagi’s residence, who is presently involved in a land dispute issue. Rakhi Tyagi, the husband of Tyagi, claimed that the police had detained her son Ankit on Tuesday, September 26, following the placement of the illegal weapon. A group of police officers can be seen walking into a property in the CCTV footage that the Tyagis provided. A police officer puts something inside the motorbike that is parked outside. Later, a new squad of policemen shows up and pulls the gun from the motorbike while claiming to have found it.

Rakhi Tyagi Claims Police Planted Weapon and Targeted CCTV Footage

Rakhi Tyagi asserted that the bike belonged to her husband Ashok and that the police had planted the pistol at their request while working hand in glove with the other party to the property dispute. Additionally, she said that the police were attempting to seize the CCTV recordings.

Superintendent Promises Accountability in Meerut Case

Dehat Kamlesh Bahadur, the superintendent of police in Meerut, has pledged to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that any wrongdoing will be prosecuted. He claimed that after learning of a pistol being kept in a motorbike, the cops went to search it. The two constables who were involved in the incident were recognised from the CCTV tape. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh Sajwan’s statement to news agency PTI, they were transferred from their position at the Kharkhauda Police Station and placed in the police lines.
