Mohammad Azharuddin: The Indian National Congress party has released its second list of candidates for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, set to take place on November 30. The party unveiled a total of 45 candidates, with some prominent names included.
Congress Announces Second List of Candidates for Telangana Assembly Elections
One of the notable candidates announced is former Indian cricket team captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who will be contesting from the Jubilee Hills constituency. The list also features former MP Madhu Goud Yakshi, who is set to run from Lal Bahadur Nagar, Ponnam Prabhakar from Husanabad, Kandi Srniwas Reddy from Adilabad, Tumla Nageshwar Rao from Khammam, and K Raj Gopal Reddy from Munugode, among others.
Congress has now declared 100 candidates for the Telangana assembly polls
In total, the Congress has now declared 100 candidates for the Telangana assembly polls, which will cover all 119 assembly constituencies in the state. The first list of 55 candidates was unveiled on October 15. Notably, K Raj Gopal Reddy made a return to the Congress party earlier on the same day, rejoining the party after having left to join the BJP over a year ago.
The candidate selection process was discussed and finalized during a significant meeting of the Congress’s Central Election Committee. This meeting was chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and included prominent leaders from the state, such as PCC Chief A Revanth Reddy.
The Telangana election process is set to kick off with the issuance of notifications on November 3, followed by the polling day on November 30, with results to be announced on December 3.
