MP News: Unexpectedly, the BJP has chosen well-known Yadav community member Mohan Yadav to be the next chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. Yadav made an unexpected choice. Despite being OBC, which makes up more than half of the state’s population, it’s interesting to note that the Yadav community is not one of the strongest.

Mohan Yadav Chosen as BJP’s Legislative Leader

On Monday evening, fifteen days after the BJP trounced the Congress to win the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, Yadav was selected as the party’s legislative leader. The BJP’s announcement that Yadav will take over as chief minister of Madhya Pradesh coincided with the reemergence on social media of an old video of the Ujjain-born Yadav, who is 58 years old. It is said that Yadav is showing off his sword fighting prowess in the video.

BJP Names Jagdish Devda and Rajesh Shukla as Deputy CMs

Additionally, the BJP announced the appointment of Jagdish Devda and Rajesh Shukla as deputy chief ministers in an attempt to ease tensions ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election. Just 21,000 votes separated Shukla’s fifth-term victory in the Rewa seat from Devda from Malhagarh by nearly 60,000 votes. During previous Chouhan-led state administrations, Shukla and Devda served in the cabinet.
