MP News

MP News: For the more than 4.5 lakh retirees in Madhya Pradesh, there will soon be good news. The dearness aid for these pensioners would be increased by the Shivraj government, which will be a significant gift for the retirees. Let’s say that Madhya Pradesh has been informed that the Chhattisgarh government has raised retirees’ access to dearness relief by 5%. The Shivraj government would now also raise the dearness alleviation in such a circumstance.

Understanding the Provisions and Impact

The Shivraj administration has the authority to raise the pensioners’ dearness relief by a maximum of 5%. The state currently receives a 35 percent dearness relief, but with a five percent increase, that percentage will rise to 38 percent. Explain that the State Reorganisation Act’s provision states that Chhattisgarh and other states must agree in order to boost the retirees’ dearness relief. But today Chhattisgarh is free of this issue as well. The amount of dearness relief will rise in this case.

Shivraj Government Approves 5% Increase in Dearness Relief

Let us tell you that, following a five percent rise, retirees would receive a minimum pension of Rs 8,000 per month. Prior to that, in October of last year, the inflation relief was boosted. Since then, there has been a 35% dearness relief. The Shivraj administration had already made the decision to increase the dearness relief in 2023. However, the Chhattisgarh government was unable to reach a consensus. But now that the neighbouring state has given its approval, the Finance Department will soon pass a plan to raise the dearness allowance by 5%.
