MP News: Students at a government school in the Shahdol region of Madhya Pradesh were seen studying while clutching umbrellas as raindrops fell from the ceiling of the school. The incident was reported in the district’s Bhursi hamlet, and a video of it appeared on social media.
District Collector Initiates School Repair Proposals
Responding to the Incident, Shahdol district collector Vandana Vaidh said, “We have asked for the repair proposals of all schools in the district and it will be repaired soon. Whatever is required. The matter has been taken into consideration.” The collector further mentioned that she has given orders for all schools and Anganwadis to close for the upcoming two days due to the severe rains in order to protect the children from any inconvenience. Additionally, urged everyone to stay away from rushing rivers and drains.
District Grapples with Frequent Rain and Farm Waterlogging
In addition to this, the district’s frequent rains and the waterlogging of the farms also caused harm to the farmers’ crops. When the collector was asked about it, she said, “There is Fasal Bima Yojana under which the agriculture department will conduct the investigation and will analyse the loss of the farmers. After that arrangements will be made for it according to the guideline.”
