MP Viral Video: A video showing police officials playing a gambling game in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, has created a huge scandal as the local authority has taken swift action. Six policemen including one head constable and five constables were suspended immediately after the incident, said Superintendent of Police (SP) Rohit Kashwani. The suspension was in effect after the video appeared on Sunday evening that received a huge public response.

Suspended Officers Identified

The suspended officers named include Manoj Ahirwar, Ritesh Mishra, and Suraj Rajput from Kotwali police station, Bhuvaneshwar Agnihotri, and Anil Pachouri from Dehat police station, and also Salman Khan who was posted at Digora police station. The case, however raises so much concern regarding the integrity of the law enforcement officials in the region as the SP has already confirmed that further investigations are underway. Investigation Underway

SP Kashwani said that investigations will determine whether the video is original and also the date, time, and location of the incident. The video shows 12 individuals apparently playing gamble games; efforts are being made to trace the remaining participants.

Much embarrassment has been seen being caused to the local police department, and further actions are awaited based on the report from the investigation. This viral video brought a wave of disputation across social media demanding stronger accountability for public officials. “This seems to be a step to restore the faith of the people in the police force while it is under investigation,” they say of suspension of six policemen offhand within hours.
