Mumbai Hit and Run Case : In a tragic accident this morning in Worli, a speeding BMW hit a scooter, resulting in the death of a woman and injuring her husband. The car was allegedly driven by Mihir Shah, the 24-year-old son of a senior leader of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, according to the police.
The deceased woman, Kaveri, 45, was killed instantly, while her husband, Pradip Nakhwa, 50, sustained injuries in the collision. The incident occurred around 5:25 am, and Mihir Shah is currently absconding. Police suspect that Shah was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Party at Voice Global Tapas Bar
According to Karan Shah, the owner of Voice Global Tapas Bar in Juhu, Mihir Shah had been partying with friends at the bar the previous night. Mihir arrived at the bar with four friends at 11:08 pm in a Mercedes. Karan Shah stated that all friends except Mihir had one beer each, while Mihir only had a Red Bull. The group left the bar at 1:40 am, and the police are investigating the number of people at the party and their alcohol consumption.

Karan Shah provided further details to India Today, confirming that Mihir Shah and his friends left the bar at 1:40 am in a Mercedes. Hours later, Mihir allegedly drove a BMW into the scooter. The police have seized the CCTV DVR from the bar for further investigation. “Mihir Shah’s bill was Rs 18,730, which his friend paid. Mihir’s ID card was checked before entry,” stated Karan Shah.
In connection with the incident, the police have detained Rajesh Shah, Mihir’s father and the deputy leader of the Shinde Sena in Palghar district. The BMW involved in the accident is registered in his name. The police are working to track down Mihir Shah and determine the exact circumstances leading up to the accident.
The tragic incident has raised concerns about road safety and the accountability of individuals in positions of power. The ongoing investigation aims to bring justice to the victims and their families.
