Principal Secretary Disaster Management Department Pratyaya Amrit said that a major tragedy was averted due to quick thinking by the pilot. A mid-air failure of one of the engines prompted the pilot to make the instinctive, life-saving move to land the helicopter in water so that all the personnel on board survived the impact.
