Namo Bharat Train: The much-awaited Namo Bharat Train, also called the Rapid Train, finally commenced its operation between Meerut South and Ghaziabad with the Regional Rapid Transit System. The train was flagged off from Meerut South station at about 2:00 pm and covered a distance of 42 km up to Sahibabad station in just 32 minutes.

This journey between Meerut and Ghaziabad is all set to revolutionize in terms of speed, efficiency, and comfort with the introduction of Namo Bharat Train. The fare for a journey from Sahibabad to Meerut South railway station varies from Rs 110 for travel in standard coach to Rs 220 for premium class coach. Thus, the train offers an affordable service to reach their destination within a short period for all types of travelers. The minimum fare has been fixed at Rs 20 for the standard coach and Rs 40 for the premium coach.
The entire RRTS corridor from Delhi to Meerut consists of 25 stations, with huge parking facilities being developed at key points. The largest parking has been made at Meerut South Station, accommodating about 300 cars and 900 two-wheelers. Another major parking facility is coming up at Sarai Kale Khan station in Delhi that can accommodate about 275 cars and 900 two-wheelers.
42 KM Journey Completed in 32 Minutes
In order to facilitate smooth access, the vehicles entering the parking areas solely for pick and drop will not be charged for the first 10 minutes. Beyond this period, nominal fees shall be charged depending upon the duration of parking, with charges structured to encourage short-term use.
Another landfall step that inaugurated the Namo Bharat Train was toward better regional connectivity, making the commutation time between Meerut and Ghaziabad very short and easily accessible.
