Ajit Pawar NCP: In a tumultuous blow to Nationalist Congress Party’s leader Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar has joined the Maharashtra government today. He has taken oath as Deputy Chief Minister and will share the post with BJP”s Devendra Fadnavis. He has also claimed the support of 40 NCP MLAs.
Sharad Pawar who is in Pune had no idea of NCP MLAs meet in Ajit Pawar’s house. He had said that he had not idea about the meeting and stated that Opposition leader can call a meeting of party MLAs. A few days earlier Ajit Pawar had cleared his intentions to quit his post as opposition leader in Vidhan Sabha.
Meanwhile Sharad Pawar has departed from his residence at Pune.
9 NCP members to be sworn as Minsiters
A total of nine NCP leaders will be made minsters in the government.
NCP leaders including Aditi Tatkare, Dilip Walse Patil, Chhagan Bhujbal and Dhananjay Munde have oath as ministers in state government alongside Ajit Pawar.

Maharashtra CM has reacted to Ajit Pawar joining camp with Shiv-Sena and BJP led Maharashtra government. “Now we have 1 Chief Minister and 2 Deputy Chief Ministers. The double-engine government has now become triple engine. For the development of Maharashtra, I welcome Ajit Pawar and his leaders. Ajit Pawar’s experience will help strengthen Maharashtra.” the chief minster said.
