Ajit Pawar: After a long day of drama speculating about divisions inside the Nationalist Congress Party, Ajit Pawar attended the NCP’s Iftar party in Mumbai on Tuesday night along with his uncle and NCP chief Sharad Pawar and his daughter MP Supriya Sule. Sharad Pawar attacked the ‘ruling forces’ who teach people to take the law into their own hands during the Iftar gathering.
NCP controversy amid BJP backing rumours involving Ajit Pawar: 10 points
- There was a lot of rumours that Ajit Pawar was working on a separate political strategy before the Iftar party where Sharad Pawar and his nephew were spotted together. Ajit had offered the BJP his support in 2019.
- It is thought that Ajit and Supriya Sule’s power struggle inside NCP is what caused the apparent schism.
- Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, Uddhav Thackeray, and UBT Sena MP Sanjay Eait had a conference call in response to reports that Ajit had split from a group of the NCP. There was no Ajit in sight.
- A few NCP MLAs met with Ajit and promised him their support no matter what course of action he takes.
- Sharad Pawar denied the rumours and stated that Ajit had not called a meeting.
- In a statement, Ajit Pawar also made it clear that he would continue to serve the NCP as long as he was alive.
- “I did not obtain any MLAs’ signatures. All rumours must now come to an end, stated Ajit Pawar. “According to some media reports, I called a meeting of the (NCP) MLAs on Tuesday. This is wholly untrue. Ajit stated, “I would like to make it clear that I have not convened a meeting of my party’s MLAs and office bearers.
- Sharad Pawar was informed about the discussions between Ajit Pawar and the BJP and his meeting with the NCP MLAs, according to reports, even though the top NCP leadership tried to downplay the split rumours.
- Sharad Pawar put pressure on Ajit and put an end to the party’s budding mutiny.
- The party MLAs were contacted by Sharad Pawar’s aides, who warned them that if they made any rash decisions, they would be subject to the same disqualification proceedings as Shinde’s MLAs.
Sharad Pawar comment on UP encounters
