Noida Gurugram Bomb Scare: On Saturday, bomb threats were issued to the Ambience Mall in Gurugram, Haryana, and the DLF Mall in Noida. Following this, the law enforcers sprang into action. The threat was made through an e-mail in which it was claimed that bombs had been put inside the buildings to “kill everyone.” It also implicated two people as being “behind this attack.”
Investigations Continue
On the threat, both places were immediately put on high alert and police and bomb squads sent to the scene to start search operations. Shoppers and staff had to leave the premises as a precautionary measure while authorities combed through it.
The situation at Noida’s DLF Mall was concurrent with a pre-planned mock drill to test the security protocols of the mall. According to Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police Rambadan Singh, the whole mall was evacuated, and the inspection was carried out as part of this drill. The mall was reopened to the public later after the drill got over and no threats were found.
Immediate Police Response and Search Operations
The incidents have raised concerns over the security of malls in the region; however, both threats now appear to have been dealt with incident-free. Authorities are investigating the origin of the e-mail and the individuals indicated in it to check upon the credibility of the threats and assure public safety.
