Noida News: An Ex Army officer is accused of stealing Rs 20 lakh from a cash van. The Cash Van was going to Rajinder Nagar to deposit one crore rupees from Punjabi Bagh. The accused used to work as a Security Guard in the bank and he was sent in the van to protect the money. The accused was arrested by Rajinder Nagar Police.
Cops recovered 19 lakhs from the accused
The cops have recovered around 19 lakhs from the stolen money. The report of the stolen money was registered by the Manager of the bank on June 15th that the cash van has left the van with one crore rupees, when the van reached the ATM, 19 lakh was found missing from the cash. The cops registered the case and stated the probe. Police had questioned all the employees present in the cash van, but the accused wasn’t traced. Later the security guard broke down and confessed to the theft.
Accused confessed to the theft during Probe
After retiring from service, the man got the job of security guard in the bank. He used to accompany the van many a times when it used to drop cash to the bank’s ATM. He said he got wrong intentions after seeing so much cash in front of him and he committed the theft. He took the stolen money to Haridwar and joined back duty.
