Noida News: Noida and the Greater Noida region is likely to emerge as a centre of data centres in northern India as several top global IT corporations are setting up their facilities in this industrial belt with various players making a pledge to Uttar Pradesh government to invest at least ₹30,000 crore jointly.
Compliance with UP Government Guidelines
In compliance with the guidelines of the Uttar Pradesh government, the industrial development authorities of Noida and Yamuna Motorway (Yeida) have made the decision to establish specialised sectors to meet the needs of the data centre industry.
In response to investor requests, Yeida has chosen to create a specific cluster in Sector 28 for data centre developments. According to officials, the Noida administration is also in the process of developing the plot plans for the data centre in Sector 154 designated for these kinds of units.
CEO’s Insights on Data Center Investments
Chief executive officer Lokesh M of the Noida authority said that several bids from investors and IT companies wishing to establish data centres in Noida are being received. He stated that in order to meet the demand, they have chosen to construct Sector 154 for the data centre facilities, which would spur growth and the creation of jobs in this area. “NTT has already made its facility live today and there are many other serious players in line who we cannot name right now,” the CEO said.
According to officials, Yotta Infrastructure, which currently operates a campus at Knowledge Park-V in Greater Noida, wants to grow even further, as does NTT. Adani Group has also stated its intention to establish data centres in the Noida area. The CEO of Yeida claims that the company has received several offers from international IT firms looking to establish operations along the Yamuna Motorway.
Data Center Plot Schemes Unveiled
“We are coming up with the data centre plot schemes so that the interested players can set up the facilities and start operations,” he said.
The NTT, a worldwide IT infrastructure as well as services company, made its new data centre campus Noida 2 live, and the opening of its first data centre is spread over 6-acre land which will handle 22.4 MW IT load with an area of 300,000 sq. ft initially, and the capacity will be raised soon with 30.4 MW IT load.
