Noida News

Noida News: According to sources, the Noida authority plans to revamp Udyog Marg, a prominent thoroughfare in the city, into a model road aimed at easing the regular traffic gridlock experienced by commuters during rush hours.

Udyog Marg to be revamped

The ongoing issue of unauthorised parking along both the road and the sidewalks has significantly impeded the smooth flow of traffic. Officials cite an evaluation carried out by the CEO of the Noida Authority, Lokesh M, as the driving force behind the choice to transform Udyog Marg into a model road.

During the inspection, various areas from Sector 1 to 11, including Udyog Marg, were scrutinized. The examination unveiled prevalent issues of unauthorized parking, encroachments on sidewalks, and significant traffic congestion along this vital road connecting Sector 15A to the Sector 11 T-point.

CEO Lokesh said, “We have instructed the work circle and traffic cell to take measures to eliminate illegal parking, clean the road, and redevelop the footpath. The authority will soon prepare a project report and commence work on-site to transform this road into a model road for smoother commuting.”

Udyog Marg accommodates numerous automobile showrooms and the offices of multinational corporations. However, the unauthorised parking on sidewalks and along the roadside has transformed this spacious road into a constriction, causing traffic issues.

Previous redevelopment in Noida

Earlier, the Noida authority effectively converted a 2km segment of the Master Plan-III road into a model road, featuring amenities like walkways, decorative lighting, well-kept sidewalks, and an appealing central median. Officials indicate that the CEO has instructed all work divisions to provide bi-weekly progress reports concerning unauthorised parking and encroachments on public spaces within their designated zones.
