The District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar on Friday announced to change in Noida School Timings in view of the heatwave conditions. The timings have been revised for both government and private schools. The classes will now begin at 8 AM and will last until 1 pm. Along with Noida, school timings have also been revised in parts of Uttar Pradesh such as Lucknow and Prayagaraj.

New School timings in Prayagraj and Lucknow
“School timings for the students from class 1 to 9 in all schools will be 8 am to 1 pm, in view of heatwave conditions District Magistrate, Gautam Budha Nagar,” said an official notice.
In Prayagraj, schools will function from 7 AM and close at 12 PM for Classes 1 to 8. Meanwhile, in Lucknow, schools will be operating from 7.30 AM to 12:30 PM for classes 1 to 8, while Classes 9 to 12 will stay in school from 7:30 to 1:30 pm.

Delhi schools guidelines
As per the guidelines issued by the Delhi government, schools are asked to not organise assemblies during the afternoon shift in view of the scorching heat in the national capital.
Odisha schools’ new timings
The Odisha government has changed the school timings for classes 1 to 12 amid the heatwave conditions in the state. The classes will be held from 7 am to 11.30 am across the state.
Revised timings in Bihar schools
Bihar: The classes for students in Bihar will be held from 6:30 am to 11:30 am. The previous timings in schools were from 7 am to 1 pm across the state.
Heatwave in India
The India Meteorological Department has warned several states about heat waves amid the soaring temperature. A study, conducted by Ramit Debnath and colleagues at the University of Cambridge, also suggested that heatwaves in India are becoming more frequent and severe due to climate change. Over 90 per cent of the country is in the “extremely cautious” or “danger zone” of their impacts, according to the study.
