Chief Minister’s Assurance and Investigation in Rajasthan Stripping Case
On Saturday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot visited with the victim and assured her that the perpetrators will face harsh punishment as well as offering her a government position and a 10 lakh rupee help. According to a police officer with knowledge of the situation, the state police has assembled a five-person special investigative team to look into the case. On August 31, the victim was discovered by the accused at the home of a guy named Shiva in the Pratapgarh village of Nichlakota. “Fifteen days ago, the woman allegedly fled with a man (Shiva) who lived about 3km away from her in-laws’ house in Nichlakota village. The victim was then stripped, beaten, and paraded naked in front of the entire village,” additional director general of police (crime), Dinesh MN, said.

Government and National Commission for Women’s Response to Rajasthan Stripping Case
“We also suspect a few more people whose names were not registered in the FIR by the woman but were seen in the video trying to provoke the accused,” he said. A five-person special investigating team (SIT), headed by MN, was then established by director general of police Umesh Mishra to look into the situation. “The team will submit a detailed report to the state government and the police headquarters after collecting all the technical and scientific evidences followed by the investigation,” said Mishra. Late on Friday, Chief Minister Gehlot took note of the occurrence. In a civilised society, actions like this have no place, he wrote in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter). Condemning the incident, the National Commission for Women posted on X: “NCW vehemently condemns the harrowing incident in Pratapgarh, Rajasthan. A woman was molested, stripped, and recorded on video. Despite it happening two days ago, police inaction is unacceptable. NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma has instructed the state’s DGP to promptly arrest the culprits and invoke necessary IPC provisions. We demand a comprehensive report within five days.” Additionally, NCW stated that it would send investigators to Dhariyawad, and the Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission asked the superintendent of police to submit a case report.
