In an innovative move to address the growing concerns of organic waste management and soil health, the PMC (Patna Municipal Corporation) has recently put forth a bid to implement a groundbreaking project that aims to transform organic waste into valuable soil nutrients. This initiative holds great potential to revolutionize waste management practices and promote sustainable agriculture.
Organic waste, such as food scraps, agricultural residues, and garden waste, will be collected from households, markets, and farms within the city. The waste will undergo a carefully designed composting process that utilizes aerobic decomposition to break down the organic matter and facilitate the conversion of nutrients.
The resulting compost will be rich in essential elements like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which are vital for plant growth. The PMC plans to distribute this nutrient-rich compost to local farmers, horticulturists, and community gardens, thus promoting sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing soil fertility.
