Patna News: After receiving heavy rains for the last one week, the water level of river ganga is rising indicating a warning sign for the authorities. The water level of the river is 1m 36cm below the danger mark at the Gandhi Ghat in Patna. The danger level of Gandhi ghat is 48.60 meters while the water level of Gandhi Ghat is 47.24 meters above the danger level. This rise in the water level of the Ganga River is noticed after three days of continuous rains in the city.
Disaster Management team also set up for emergency
After seeing the rise in the water level, the administration issued an alert and is making all necessary precautions to deal with the situation. A Disaster Management has also been set up after noticing the rise in the water level of River Ganga. Authorities have also appointed Engineers to keep an eye on the water level.
Bihar CM also took stock of the situation
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also inspected the site and instructed authorities to be ready to handle the situation. People living in the Coastal areas have been asked to shift to safer places. Every year the state deals with the situation of floods and people become homeless.
