Patna News: The students of the Patna University hold protest outside the campus against the decision of changing the name of the campus. Students had also burnt the Effigy of the Vice Chancellor. The students were so agitated that they even indulged in a scuffle with the administration. All the classes in the University were cancelled due to the protests by the students since early morning.  All the gates of the University had been locked by the administration keeping the violent protests of the students in mind. The students also clashed with the administration staff.

Authorities decided to change the name of Four Hostels

The administration has also issued a notification regarding the name change of the University. The college authorities had decided to change the name of four hostels of the Patna University. The decision has been taken after the recent incident of firing and bombing happened in the campus area. After the incident turned violent, the four hostels named-Nadmi, Iqbal, Junction and Pinto have been closed and the students have been asked to vacate the hostel.

Administration will open the Hostels with New names

The authorities have decided to open the Hostels with new names. The students of the University are protesting against this move of the authorities. The students have been sitting outside the campus since morning demanding not to change the name of the campus.
