Patna News: City Gears Up for Youth Festival 2023–2024; Two Days of Talent and Creativity

Patna News: On September 15 and 16, the district-level Youth Festival 2023–2024 will be held at Rajendranagar, the state capital of Patna, near the Moinul Haq Stadium. In this context, DDC Tanay Sultania examined the Youth Utsav preparations per the orders of DM Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh.

Opportunities for Emerging Artists

Let us inform you that starting on September 15th, any artist between the ages of 15 and 35 will be eligible to take part in this youth festival. The artist or team that places first among the chosen artists will also have the opportunity to take part in future state-level youth festivals hosted by the Bihar Department of Art, Culture, and Youth.

Diverse Categories of Performances and Art Displays

There will be a total of ten performers, including an accompanist, for the group singing on the first day of the Youth Utsav. 20 artists in total will take part in a group folk dance at the same time, along with supporting artists. Conversely, solo performances of traditional dance styles like kathak, odissi, bharatnatyam, manipuri, and kuchipudi are required. The artists that are accompanying the participants may be older than 35. A solo classical performance on the sitar, guitar, tabla, flute, veena, and mridangam (not the pakhavaj) will be given. Sugam will perform alone while playing the harmonium. English or Hindi oratory will also be performed alone. On the other side, on September 16, one-act plays by up to 12 artists will be presented along with exhibitions of painting, sculpture, handicrafts, and photography.

Registration and Self-Preparation Guidelines for Participants

Om Prakash, the district’s sports officer, announced that participants must sign up in person at Premchand Rangshala from 7 to 9 a.m. on the day of the competition. Inform them that they will not receive any separate funding for their participation in the youth festival and that they will be responsible for making all arrangements for their own costumes, instruments, stage equipment and fellow performers.
