Patna News: According to officials, at least 18 people have died in Bihar in the last day as a result of lightning strikes during the ongoing monsoon season. Five of the fatalities were reported in the Rohtas district, four in Arwal, three in Saran, two in East Champaran and Aurangabad, and one in each of the districts of Banka and Vaishali. Each victim’s family will receive Rs 4 lakh in compensation, according to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The disaster management organisation has urged residents, particularly those in rural areas, to stay away from agricultural fields, trees, electric poles, and temporary clay homes when it is pouring.
Authorities Warn Against Rooftop Ventures and Electrical Appliance Risks
Urban dwellers have also been advised not to go to rooftops of buildings, refrain from touching electrical appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners, and keep away from windows during rain.
