Patna News: Upcoming Multilevel Car Park in city to have IoT Integration

Patna news

Patna News: There will be another automated multilevel car park (AMLCP) in the city, close to the back entrance of the Maurya Lok Shopping Complex on Budh Marg. The ground has been tested for the proposed G+5 building under the Patna Smart City Limited (PSCL), and construction is expected to start in a week. The multilevel parking will have space for 150 vehicles.

“The soil testing is done before starting a construction project. The architectural design of the building depends on the quality of the soil. The construction work will begin as soon as the report of soil testing is received. The place for the building has been identified at the space between the temple and the mazaar area on Buddha Marg,” said PSCL spokesperson, Priya Saurabh.

Building will be G+5 with green area cover:

“The building will be G+5 with a green area cover on the ground floor with toilets and drinking water facilities. Around 150 cars could be parked at the AMLCP at one time. The monitoring agency of the project is BUIDCO, while the construction work has been given to HP Rajya Guru. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 28.87 crore. The project is estimated to be completed by June 2024. The work order for the construction work has been assigned,” the spokesperson further said.

IoT Integration for Seamless Parking Experience:

PSCL authorities have stated that the forthcoming automated multi-level car parking system will heavily rely on Internet of Things (IoT). The mobile app, slated for development by the construction agency, will provide comprehensive parking information, including available spaces on each floor, enabling users to book spots seamlessly.

Construction Details and Features:

Priya emphasized that the parking infrastructure will be integrated with the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) to ensure overall safety and vehicle security. While a semi-automatic G+3 multi-level car parking exists near Buddha Smriti Park, its underutilization is attributed to congested access and exit roads.

Another multi-modal car parking facility near Patna GPO, connected to Patna Junction and the existing parking near Buddha Smriti Park, is currently under construction with a G+4 building near Bakri Bazar.
